01 / ABOUT THE PLACE
Leafing through the booklet placed on each table reveals not only dish and drink descriptions, but also charming hand-drawn sketches of the surrounding neighborhood and casual walking notes. Situated in Asakusa 4-chome, Cafe Reise embodies that thoughtful touch, pairing warm hospitality with careful, handcrafted preparation.
A primary draw is the selection of sandwiches and hot dogs built on hearty, chewy breads with satisfying substance. The BLT sandwich, layered with bacon from Iriya Ota Ham, lettuce, and tomato, highlights the gentle savory notes of mayonnaise alongside quality ingredients, making it an ideal choice for brunch or a hungrier midday stop. German sausages and breads also feature prominently across the menu, from buttered German toast and currywurst to pretzels, offering straightforward, rustic flavors.
The coffee lineup allows diners to choose their preferred roast, ranging from the balanced medium-roast Reise Blend to the lighter München Blend and the rich, dark Berlin Blend. Cafe lattes topped with delicate foam art and crisp iced coffees pair naturally with the sweet selections. For a post-meal treat or an afternoon break, consider pairing your cup with homemade tiramisu, subtly sweet house-baked castella sponge cake, or assorted cookies.
With beer and warming ginger drinks also on offer, the cafe provides an easygoing space to unwind, whether pausing during a morning stroll or taking a quiet break in the afternoon.
